Takin' the Next Step

I wrote this composition going into my doctorate degree at the University of North Texas. Life is all about taking that next step into the unknown. Somehow, the grounding effect of Jazz gives way to this unknown. This piece features my good friend Craig Schroeder on Flugelhorn.

Centerline

A relatively new composition, I wrote fragments of this piece during the COVID-19 lockdown, inspired by listening sessions of Herbie Hancock. Above all, the hard driving swing is at center and forefront of this composition.

On Green Dolphin Street

On Green Dolphin Street is one of my favorite compositions in the Great American Songbook. A captivating and modern piece by Bronisław Kaper, I've decided to give this tune a bit of a facelift with some twists and turns in the harmony.

A haunting ballad that is among one new found favorites. I've explored some other options of harmony that bring out the depthness of the lyric.
